Claire’s buy-in — forty percent over five years
Due 30 September 2026. Seven days from 2026-09-23. The date is [[Claire]]‘s, not Rowan’s.
Her words, and they are the whole project
“Rowan, I don’t want you to retool it for me. I want to buy forty percent of it over five years out of profit, and then I’ll retool it, and it’ll be mine to get wrong. You asked me what I wanted four months ago and I didn’t answer because I didn’t think I was allowed to want that.”
And on 8 September, the ask that set the date:
“Rowan, I’m not asking you to decide because I need permission. I’m asking because I’m forty-two and I’ve been running someone else’s company for three years and I need to know if it’s going to be mine or if I should go.”
Kept in her words, not paraphrased (constitution s.5).
The record
ADR-26 opened this and did not decide it. ADR-25 reversed the direction
Rowan had set for her. Both are in Atlas/ventures/ashcroft-tool-die/decisions.md
along with ADR-22, which is preserved unedited at his instruction: “I don’t
want ADR-22 edited into something that looks like I got it right the first time.”
What she rejected was not the retool. She said “then I’ll retool it.” She rejected Rowan deciding it for her. The direction survives her view; his authorship of it does not.
