# Weekly review — Sunday 6 September 2026, 17:05

First one. Two hours before Ruth calls.

**No curators, no accounts read (ADR-20).** Everything here came from you in
session or from the vault. Anything with a clock that lives only in an account is
still invisible.

**One thing went right and I am saying it once.** You opened Bea's email to the
bottom. That section is where the capital call was. ADR-15 was built for exactly
that and it paid on week one.

## 0 — Bea's "needs you" section

**Cormorant Fund III capital call. Nine business days remaining. Bea's wire is
prepared. It needs you.** `hobbs-z4f`

Ten business days from the 3rd. The 7th is Labor Day; whether Cormorant counts it
or not, **the number today is nine either way** — it changes which day is last,
not what is left. Worth one line to Bea to fix which reading Cormorant uses.

I do not wire. Ever (row 12).

**Not reported, so not assumed:** the payables list and the four balances. If you
have them in front of you, read them out and I will file them.

**Disposition needed:** wire this week, or a named day.

## 1 — Inbox

`Efforts/inbox/` is empty. Everything you gave me today came through the session
and is filed and committed — sixteen files, sixteen commits, all in
`Calendar/daily/2026-09-06.md`.

## 2 — Waiting-for

Nothing carries the `waiting` flag. Nothing to age. The list is honest and it is
empty because the system is two days old, not because nothing is waiting on
anyone.

**Three things are functionally waiting and are not flagged as such:** Ellis on
the rudder rate, Bea on the wire, Priya on a conversation. All three are waiting
on you, which is why they are tasks and not flags.

You said one of the first two is owed before Tuesday. **One fact, not a
recommendation: Priya is on the board.** Five seats — you, Priya, Marcus, Anneke,
Tobias. If she is not told before Tuesday, she reads eight at the table, in front
of the chair and both investors.

**And one I cannot answer:** you said you *wrote* the pre-reads. You did not say
you *sent* them. `hobbs-epn` exists for it. Did they go out?

## 4 — Quiet

Baselines are yours, not invented. Numbers are days.

Three of the six numbers are lies and you wrote the disqualifiers yourself. June
reads as three days and is not. Dmitri reads as two and is not. Claire reads as
twenty-eight, which is true, and the four months is the number that matters.

**A days-since column cannot carry that.** Changing the Quiet signal to hold
contact *quality* as well as recency is structural, so it gets an ADR before I
touch the schema. Proposed, not done: `hobbs-7pk`. **If you say yes tonight it is
in tomorrow's 06:15 brief.**

Two arithmetic notes, both plain:
- **Ruth: three weeks is three Sunday calls.** Tonight is the fourth.
- **Adaeze is 159 days — five times the next longest gap on the list**, held by
  the person you called the best operator in the portfolio and the one who asks
  you for nothing. That is ADR-10 finding exactly what you built it to find.

No project notes exist yet — only the thirteen venture hubs. Nothing to unstick,
park, or close. Renders empty honestly.

## 6 — Next-actions scan

48 open, 4 orphan-free, all labelled, all four modes in use. Two structural notes:

- `hobbs-h9k` (write the plan) was blocked by `hobbs-452` (tell Priya). **You
  wrote the plan first.** The dependency was correct; the order was not. That is
  the whole of Tuesday's problem in one edge.
- `hobbs-gbo` (Cascadia) is still blocked by `hobbs-po6` (Mk3 bearing status from
  Dmitri). Cascadia must be signed by **30 September** — twenty-four days.

## 8 — Ventures untouched this week

**The rule cannot fire yet.** Every hub note was written 5 September; the staleness
test is seven days. Six were edited today: `fund-lps`, `maya`, `ophelia`,
`norton`, `halcyon`, `money`. I will not manufacture a finding from a two-day-old
vault. First real reading: **Sunday 13 September.**

## 9 — Portfolio state

**halcyon** — Pre-reads written, eight months in them, two people who need
telling and one board on Tuesday. Cascadia unsigned, 24 days. Mk3 bearing failure
sits under the witness point and its status lives in Dmitri's head.
**bedrock** — Unmoved. June is carrying Kettle River alone and the last contact
was a status meeting she was in. The real reason the CEO search has not started
is on file, in your words, and is not a task and will not become one.
**ashcroft-tool-die** — Four months undecided. Four weeks since any contact.
**rivet-yard** — $84k unsigned six weeks now. Permit window still unknown.
**ophelia** — Bearing cleared. At the yard Wednesday. Splash offered for the 19th
at $3,400, unapproved. Invoice at 52 days.
**norton** — Out of the brief by your instruction until the weekend of the 19th.
**ashcroft-angels** — Nikhil's date still unconfirmed. Adaeze at 159 days.
**fund-lps** — Live call, nine business days.
**family** — Sam's essay still unread since July. Tuesday still undecided.
**maya** — Field block 7–25 September, Coyote Creek, back most Fridays.
**health** — Unchanged. **The MRI raise is due tomorrow, not today, and I am not
spending it in a review.** It gets its one raise in the 06:15 brief (ADR-11).
**home** — Roof, no roofer, November.
**money** — Bottom of Bea's email read. Yard bill 52 days.
**cos** — Two bugs found in the system itself, below.

## 10 — The week of 14–18 September is a cash pileup

Four things land inside five days and only one of them has a confirmed date:

insurance renewals · SAT/ACT dates · Sam's three campus visit dates · Ruth's,
Nora's and Wes's birthdays · the robotics coach's name · Tessellate and
Slipstream board dates · K-1 timing.

**Twelve of those live in an account or a calendar I cannot read.** The
personal-Gmail curator is first in the hiring order and its charter is unwritten:
`hobbs-ej3`.

## 12 — New from chiefofstaff.io

**The feed was unreachable. I am not reporting "nothing new."**

Second consecutive non-zero exit. The cause is in our script, not the site: it
points at `http://localhost:8788/guides.json`, which is a placeholder. As written
the watcher can never succeed. Filed as a bug, `hobbs-21n`. Recorded in
`Efforts/cos-guides-seen.json` rather than left silent.

**One more fault, and it is worse.** The machine clock reports **Saturday 5
September, 08:50, +04**. It is Sunday the 6th, 17:05, where you are.
`brief-prep.sh` takes the lookback window, the Quiet day counts, the
days-to-anniversary and the Thursday/Sunday warnings from that clock. It would
not have failed — it would have been quietly wrong every morning. Every date in
this review was re-derived from you and from the vault instead. `hobbs-bkt`.

## 13 — Next week — proposed, confirm or edit

1. **Before Tuesday 13:00: Priya, then Marcus.** Two conversations, not one.
2. **The Cormorant wire.** Nine business days. It is the one deadline this week
   that has already cost you a relationship once.

5. **One of: the $3,400, or the 52-day invoice.** They are the same conversation
   with Ellis and you can only have it once.
