# The season — first race 3 October

**First race of the season: Saturday 3 October 2026.** Ten days from 2026-09-23.

## The one thing this project needs and does not have

**The entry deadline is unknown.** `hobbs-935`, P2.

**It has been unknown since 5 September and it is the only date in this venture
that has never been established.** A 19 September splash left fourteen days to the
race; Rowan is back from [[tomales-passage]] on the 27th, **six days before it**,
and if the deadline falls inside the weekend he is on a boat with no reason to be
thinking about it.

**Not assumed, not estimated, and not inferred from any other race** (rule 17).

## Why this is a project and not a task

`hobbs-935` is one call. **The season is not.** This note exists so that when the
deadline is answered there is somewhere for the rest of it to land — the schedule,
the crew, and whether she is raced at all this year — rather than a closed task
and nothing behind it.

**Nothing about the season beyond 3 October is in this vault.** Stated so that the
blank is visible rather than read as an empty calendar.

## The thing that gates all of it

Rowan **cannot wind a winch with his right arm**, so he cannot single-hand her,
and **he has stopped offering.** That is a fact from `health` and it is recorded
here because it bears on this project directly. **The conclusion he drew about it
does not appear here, in the brief, or anywhere else** — his instruction, and it
holds (ADR-11, `health`).
