The CEO search

“I’ve started the Bedrock CEO search. Properly, not as a task — I called Marcus this afternoon and asked him to make introductions, which is the thing I’ve been not doing for two years.”

Why this project exists at all, which is the unusual part

For eight days this was deliberately not a project and deliberately not a task — it was dated prose under “The real reason” in VENTURE.md, at Rowan’s instruction: “That isn’t a task. Write it down somewhere I’ll be made to look at it again.” ADR-18 made it a narrow exception to the concrete-action rule. ADR-24 recorded that exception ending, because the act happened.

Both records are now in Atlas/ventures/bedrock/decisions.md. The prose itself is not, and does not move: it stays in VENTURE.md, unedited, because that is the file he is made to look at and this one is not. The thing that note says he did not want to do is the thing he did, and it is only worth keeping where the act can still be measured against it.
