# Weekly review — Sunday 13 September 2026, 17:05

Second one. Two hours before Ruth calls.

**No curators, no accounts read (ADR-20).** Everything here came from you in
session or from the vault. Anything with a clock that lives only in an account is
still invisible.

**One thing, said once.** You started the Bedrock CEO search. Two years. It is
filed in your words and without comment, which is what you asked for.

**One thing did not happen, and it is the one this slot exists for: Bea's email
was not opened.** Section 0.

## 0 — Bea's Sunday email — NOT READ

**Step 0 did not run.** You reported nothing from Bea this week. That means this
review has **no payables list, no balances across the four accounts, and no
"needs you" section** — and, specifically, **no confirmation that anything on
last week's list was paid.**

ADR-15 put the review at 17:00 for exactly this, and last week it paid on week
one: the Cormorant call was in the bottom section. **It is 17:05. Ruth calls at
19:00.** Opening it to the bottom now is a two-minute job with two hours left.

**Not assumed empty. Recorded as not read** (`Atlas/ventures/money/VENTURE.md`).

**Disposition needed:** read the bottom section now and read it out, or say the
word and I file it as skipped for the week.

## 1 — What would have been in it: the Cormorant wire, and it is not nine any more

**`hobbs-z4f` — P0, open since 6 September.**

Called from Thursday 3 September, ten business days, Bea's wire prepared. Last
week's figure was **nine either way**, and the Labor Day question was a nicety
about *which day was last*.

**Re-derived today from the call date. It is no longer either-way:**

## 2 — Inbox

`Efforts/inbox/` is empty. Everything this week arrived in session and was filed
and committed the same day. Nothing dropped, nothing unprocessed.

## 3 — Waiting-for

**Before today the vault had zero `waiting` flags. It now has one:** `hobbs-p9u`,
Marcus, on the Bedrock introductions, follow-up **Sunday 20 September**.

**One flag out of 51 open tasks, and that is not a bookkeeping gap — it is the
picture.** Last week's review said the list was "honest and empty because the
system is two days old." A week on, it is still one, and the reason is different:
**the ball is with you on nearly everything.** Bea is waiting on your line, Ellis
is waiting on Bea, Nikhil is waiting to be asked, Dmitri is waiting to be asked,
Claire is waiting on a number, Tomas has not been called.

Nothing here ages, because nothing here is anyone else's.

**Disposition needed:** none. This is a statement of where the queue actually
sits, and the only thing that changes it is items leaving it.

**Two of five closed this week. That is the section working.**

**Claire is the one with the clock.** She asked a question with a date on it —
*"if it's going to be mine or if I should go"* — and the three decisions that
answer it are separable and only one of them is gated on anyone else. **Her view
is still nowhere in this vault**, which ADR-22 names as its own largest missing
input.

## 5 — Quiet

**Three things this table cannot tell you, and each one is a hole rather than a
number.**

**Ruth — the number has been counted through two Sunday calls with no record of
either.** She calls the landline every Sunday at 19:00. The briefs of 8, 9, 10
and 11 September read 23, 24, 25 and 26 days, decrementing straight past **Sunday
6 September**, and tonight is the second. Nothing in this vault says whether
either call happened. **Either the count is wrong, or two Sunday calls went
unanswered** — and the second is the exact shape you built the Quiet list to
catch. I cannot tell which. `hobbs-6oa`.

**June — 10 days, and it is worse than it was.** The number is already a lie by
your own disqualifier. What is new is that **the post above her is now being
filled and she has not been told** — nothing was reported about whether she
knows. She is carrying Kettle River and its counterparty alone. Recorded in her
note as a fact, not a recommendation.

**Maya — 8 days, and Friday 11 September has no record.** That was the first
relocated standing evening under the ADR-12 amendment, the one you moved to
Friday yourself that morning. Whether it was kept is not in this vault.
**Separately: nothing Maya has said has been captured since 5 September** —
eight days against rule 8 and ADR-13, which say the same day, every time, no
matter how small.

Logistics only, and nothing beyond it.

**`hobbs-7pk` is a week old and undecided** — the ADR on whether Quiet carries
contact *quality* as well as recency. It was proposed because June's number lies.
This week it also let Ruth's number run through two missed Sundays without a
flag. **It has now cost something twice.**

**Disposition needed:** one word on `hobbs-7pk`, and whether last Sunday's call
with Ruth happened.

## 6 — Projects

No project notes exist. Only the fifteen hub notes. Nothing to unstick, park, or
close. Renders empty honestly, for the second week.

## 7 — Next-actions scan

**51 open, 16 closed, all labelled, all four modes in use, no orphans.**
Nine closed this week — the highest-value week the graph has had.

**The blocked chain is the finding.** Three blocked items, and all three sit in
one line:

**The root is a question you have not asked, it is P0, and it has appeared in
exactly one brief in the six days since it was created.** Everything downstream
of it is a contract with a date.

**Two defects found by sweep, both mine, both fixed today.** Details in
`Efforts/feedback.md`; the short version is in "The system itself" below.

**Disposition needed:** ask Dmitri, or say the chain waits.

## 8 — Someday

No `someday.md`. Nothing aging out. `hobbs-e1y` — tell Maya about the Rivet Yard
guarantee — sits at P4 by your instruction: not urgent, does not expire, not
chased. It is not on this list and is not being chased here either.

## 9 — Ventures untouched this week

**First real reading — last week's review said this rule could not fire until
today, and it fires now.** Seven days, keyed off note edits, never task counts.

**Stale — four:**

**At the boundary — two, and they are the two that matter:**

**`fund-lps` and `money` were both last edited on 6 September, at the last
review.** They hold the only hard money deadline this week and the 60-day yard
bill, and they went the whole week without an edit — which is why `fund-lps` was
still carrying the sentence *"nine business days remaining"* on the page today.
Both corrected in this session.

**A venture with a live deadline and no note edits for a week is the shape the
staleness rule is for**, and it caught the right two.

## 10 — Portfolio state

**halcyon** — The board ran, the pre-reads were read, both owed conversations are
had. What is left is the blocked chain: Dmitri's runout hypothesis, unconfirmed
since 7 September and under a hold for anything Marcus can see, sitting under a
Cascadia contract due in **17 days**. The title is still unmentioned since June.
**bedrock** — **The search started today.** Marcus is making introductions; the
ball is his, follow-up in seven days. "The real reason" stays on the page as
written. June is still carrying Kettle River alone and has not been told.
**ashcroft-tool-die** — Claire set a date and it is **17 days out**. ADR-22 is
proposed and unsigned since the 9th. Her view is still not recorded anywhere.
**rivet-yard** — Eight days stale. $84k unsigned at six weeks; permit window
unknown; nothing moved.
**ophelia** — Splash **confirmed Sat 19 Sep, six days**. The rate was approved to
Ellis's face. The yard bill is at **60 by count**, decided to pay Monday, and the
line to Bea is **drafted and unsent**.
**norton** — Ten minutes in the garage on the 12th, filed without comment. Out of
the brief until the weekend of 19-20 Sep, when the ask goes as scheduled.
**ashcroft-angels** — Pro-rata decided, in. **The deadline is believed Friday 18
September — five days — and is still unconfirmed by anyone.** Adaeze at 166 days.
**fund-lps** — **Four or five business days.** Corrected today.
**family** — Sam's essay read on the 12th, the July gap in the record. State
robotics date unknown; SAT/ACT unknown; three campus visits undated; college list
due next month.
**maya** — Field block to the 25th. The 26th-27th is booked in intent and in
nothing else; the list is below. Eight days since anything of hers was captured.
**health** — Unchanged. **The single raise was spent on 8 September and the
ADR-11 escalation to Maya is due and undeliverable** — no channel exists
(`hobbs-56d`). It is tracked, not dropped, and it is not being raised again here.
**home** — Roof, no roofer, November. Eight days stale.
**money** — Bea's email not read this week. Yard bill 60 days. The four balances
and the payables list are unknown, not empty.
**cos** — Three failed feed fetches, the clock still wrong, and two invented task
handles found and fixed. Below.

## 11 — Unknowns

**Closed this week — seven, which is the most in any week so far:** whether the
pre-reads were sent (they were) · Sam's robotics coach (Delia Karr) · the regional
outcome (second, qualified for state) · Claire's deadline (end of September) ·
the Tessellate decision (in) · the three Thursdays (dissolved — the evening moved
to Friday) · the anniversary (26-27 September) · the splash date (Sat 19 Sep,
confirmed).

**Still open, and twelve of them live in an account nobody here can read:** the
race entry deadline · Nikhil's pro-rata date · the permit resubmission window ·
Alameda and Ohio property tax dates · quarterly estimateds · insurance renewals ·
SAT/ACT dates · Sam's three campus visit dates · **the state robotics date** ·
Ruth's, Nora's and Wes's birthdays · Tessellate and Slipstream board dates · K-1
timing · **what would confirm or rule out shaft runout, and how many days it
takes.**

**The personal-Gmail curator is still first in the hiring order and its charter is
still unwritten** — `hobbs-ej3`, P2, unmoved in eight days. Sam's essay came out
of that account this week by you opening it by hand.

## 12 — New from chiefofstaff.io — **18 new guides**

**Read this line first: the feed was NOT fetched successfully, and this section is
not built from a fetch.**

`./scripts/guides-watch.sh` exited non-zero for the **third consecutive week**.
Your read this session was that last week's two failures were the server. **That
is not what I found.** The server is up — `workerd` is listening on
127.0.0.1:8788 for the chief-of-staff.io repo — and it returns **404 on
`/guides.json`, on `/`, and on nine other paths I probed.** It 404s on
everything, so this is not a missing feed route; the running worker is serving
nothing. `chiefofstaff.io` itself does not resolve from here, so there is no
public fallback. `hobbs-21n` is still correct about the placeholder URL and is no
longer the whole story.

**What I did instead, disclosed rather than papered over:** the build artifact
`dist/client/guides.json` exists on disk — 32 guides — and I read and diffed it
**directly**. The eighteen below are real and are the correct diff. They did not
come over HTTP.

**The seen-file was deliberately not written back.** Marking eighteen guides seen
the moment they are surfaced once, unread, is "routed is not done" (anti-pattern
15). They surface again next week unless you dispose of them.

One sentence each on whether it applies **to us**, not on what it says.

### Rituals — 3
- **Capture Everything, Organise Nothing** — *the inbox is empty every week
  because everything arrives in session; this is the guide for when it does not,
  and it is the prerequisite for two others below.*
- **Incremental Handling: Unconfirmed Tasks and One-Word Dispositions** — **we
  half-have this**: the `unconfirmed` flag exists in the constitution and has
  **never once been used**, and this review has produced twelve "disposition
  needed" lines that you have to answer in prose instead of one word.
- **The Review Surface: Intentions, Not Conclusions** — *a localhost app that
  turns this document into clickable dispositions; premature — you have had two
  reviews, and building a UI before the habit is anti-pattern 8 by name.*

### The team — 4, and this is the track that unblocks the most
- **Hiring a Curator** — **this is the missing piece, precisely.** `hobbs-ej3`
  has been "write the charter for the personal-Gmail curator" at P2 for eight
  days with no template; this is the template and the six-step protocol.
- **Credentials and Confidentiality** — *ADR-04 and ADR-20 already say credentials
  live outside the vault; this adds the three confidentiality tiers, which
  `money`, `maya` and `health` need before any curator touches them.*
- **Operators with Narrow Hands** — **this is the answer to a wall we hit twice
  this week**: `hobbs-bg9` (the line to Bea) and `hobbs-56d` (the line to Maya)
  are both drafted, both undeliverable, and both are exactly "a write, with the
  irreversible click kept by you."
- **The One-Way Valve: Hedges, Enrichment, and Over-Surfacing** — **the closest
  thing on the site to the correction you gave me yesterday.** *"Surface, never
  suppress"* is the yard invoice in one clause.

### Delivery — 5
- **Telegram as the Channel** — *`hobbs-58a` has sat at P3 since day one; this is
  the build. It is also the prerequisite for the two below, so it gates the track.*
- **Every Message Gets a Receipt** — *downstream of a channel we do not have; not
  yet.*
- **Voice Notes Are the Killer Input** — **one voice note has been processed in
  nine days and it produced four decisions in one file.** Transcription is
  on-device. This is the highest-bandwidth input you are not using.
- **The Execution Lane: Routed Is Not Done** — *anti-pattern 15 is the live one in
  our own file and the yard invoice was its instance; this is the structural fix,
  and it needs a channel first.*
- **Reports as Deliverables** — *this document has typed frontmatter and live task
  handles and no table of contents; a small fix, and it is the least urgent thing
  on this list.*

### Playbooks — 6
- **Commands Are Procedures** — **directly relevant: `scripts/brief-prep.sh` has
  been quietly wrong for nine days** because it takes its dates from a machine
  clock that reports 5 September. "Mark freshness-critical steps unconditional"
  is the rule we broke.
- **Paginate to Exhaustion, or Disclose the Cap** — *"a silent lie of
  completeness" is the exact phrase our own guides-watcher was written to avoid,
  and Section 12 above is that rule being obeyed by hand.*
- **Never-Late Money Ops: A Payables Radar** — **the strongest single fit on the
  list.** `money` exists; the rolling ledger, the due-dated tasks and the dues
  radar do not, and Bea's payables list has now gone unread for a week.
- **Family Is a Venture** — *we did this on day one — ADR-05 is this guide's
  argument. Skip, except the last clause: the relationship cadence through a
  dedicated highest-confidentiality curator, which we do not have.*
- **Other Sessions Brief the Chief** — *not yet; there are no other sessions
  working your ventures today.*
- **Publishing without Leaking** — *nothing leaves this system. Not applicable
  until something does.*

**Disposition needed:** "yes, that one" on any of them and I fetch the Markdown,
report unmet prerequisites, and **propose an ADR before touching anything**
(ADR-16). **My read, since you can only take one: Hiring a Curator.** Three
separate items this week — Bea's line, Maya's line, and Bea's unread email —
were blocked on the same missing thing.

## 13 — `hobbs-0si` — the 26-27 September booking list, due today

Delivered here because it was due at or before this review. **Sat 26 - Sun 27
September, two nights aboard Ophelia, north. She does not know and is not to
know** — nothing on the shared calendar, nothing in any line to her, including
the row-8 health line.

**I book none of this.** Row 11 — Hobbs never commits your calendar to a third
party — and there is no calendar curator (ADR-20). Every line below is yours to
execute. The one thing I can do is make sure none of it is discovered late.

**Cleared already:** Ophelia is in the water on the 19th. That was the gating
dependency on 11 September and Ellis confirmed it on the 12th.

**Decide first — everything else is downstream of it:**

**Two collisions worth stating flatly, both logistics:**
- **Fri 25 Sep** is the last night of the field block, the last relocated standing
  evening, and the night before you leave for two more.
- **Sat 3 Oct** is the first race of the season, one week later, and its entry
  deadline is still unknown (`hobbs-935`).

**What I do not hold and am not assuming:** whether Maya is free, whether the
25th return is confirmed, the weather, and anything about what the weekend should
be. Logistics only (row 14).

**Disposition needed: decision 1, tonight if you can.** Items 2 and 3 cannot start
without it and both need lead time. **`hobbs-0si` closes on delivery of this
list; the gating decision is spun out as `hobbs-2g6` and nothing else here became
a task** — six tasks off one weekend is task-explosion (anti-pattern 13), and
items 2 to 5 are downstream of one answer.

## 14 — The system itself

**Two invented task handles, both mine, both found by a sweep run for the first
time today, both fixed.**

- **`hobbs-3v9`** sat in `Atlas/ventures/norton/VENTURE.md` from **6 September
  until today** as the handle for "ask again the weekend of 19-20 September." It
  does not exist. The real task is `hobbs-1dk`, which the same file names
  correctly four sections later. It survived a weekly review, five briefs, and two
  later edits to that same file.
- **`hobbs-mkl`** was written today, into the Bedrock note, in the same commit as
  your verbatim — for a task that did not exist yet. Re-derived from the create
  command as `hobbs-p9u` and re-committed with the correction named.

**Fourth and fifth occurrences in nine days. SL-01 was read at the top of this
session, in full, and did not fire.** That is the entry, not the handles. SL-01's
own argument was that a lesson which only fires when consulted is not a control —
and SL-01 is one. It also only governs the moment of writing, which is why a dead
handle could sit on disk for a week untouched by it.

**The fix is mechanical, one command, and it is now step 1.7 of this routine:**
every handle referenced anywhere in the vault, minus every handle that exists.
Run today it returned seven lines. Six are correct — they are the invented handles
quoted *inside the feedback log itself*, which is what that file is for, so the
check reports and never auto-fixes. One was `hobbs-3v9`.

**Two open bugs, unchanged, and both now have a cost attached:**
- **`hobbs-bkt` — the machine clock still reports 5 September.** Every task in the
  graph is stamped `2026-09-05`, including ones created today, so **task ages
  cannot be read from `bd` at all.** Every date and day count in this review was
  re-derived from the vault. Nine days open.
- **`hobbs-21n` — the guides watcher.** Correct but insufficient; see Section 12.

**The P0 sweep added on 12 September ran, and it works.** Three open P0s:
`hobbs-z4f` in four briefs, `hobbs-62a` in one, **`hobbs-bg9` in zero** — still
zero, because no brief has been delivered since the 11th. It goes in the next one.

**Four briefs missing in nine days** — 6, 7, 12 September and today. The 6th and
7th are on the record as not delivered. The 12th is not.

## 15 — Next week — proposed, confirm or edit

Five, all with clocks, in the order the clocks run out.

1. **The Cormorant wire — four or five business days, this week either way.**
   `hobbs-z4f`. This is the one that has already cost you a relationship once.
2. **Send Bea the line on the yard invoice.** Drafted, P0, 60 days, and Ellis has
   asked three times. `hobbs-bg9`. It is one send.
3. **Nikhil — believed Friday the 18th, five days, unconfirmed by anyone.** One
   message gets the amount, the deadline and the wire instructions. `hobbs-0dv`.
4. **Claire — 17 days, and ADR-22 unsigned since the 9th.** She asked a question
   with a date on it. `hobbs-m9x`, `hobbs-s7r`.
5. **Ask Dmitri the runout question.** `hobbs-62a` is the root of the only blocked
   chain in the graph and Cascadia is 17 days out.

**Not on this list, deliberately:** the MRI. Its single raise was spent on 8
September and ADR-11 does not permit a second (`hobbs-56d`).

- **Splash Sat 19 Sep — six days.** Also the weekend the Norton ask goes,
  `hobbs-1dk`, per your 6 September instruction.
- **Anniversary Tue 22 Sep — nine days.** Not marked on the day, by your decision.
- **The standing evening is on Friday** — 18 and 25 September remain. Back to
  Thursday on the 26th, first kept **Thu 1 October.**
