Calendar/daily/2026-09-19.md
Saturday 19 September 2026
No brief. Ophelia splashes today; Rowan said so and asked for a short session.
The date is Rowan’s, not the machine’s. hobbs-bkt is fourteen days open —
date still reports 5 September. Rowan named the day: Saturday 19 September. The
last daily note is Friday 2026-09-18, which agrees.
The guides watcher ran successfully for the first time. Rowan fixed the server
before the session: “it was serving nothing, exactly as you diagnosed.”
./scripts/guides-watch.sh exit 0, HTTP 200, 32 guides, 18 new, 0 updated. The
Markdown twins fetch as well, so the whole of ADR-16 — feed, diff, twin — is live
for the first time since it was written on 5 September.
Three facts about that run that are not “it worked”:
- Nothing is actually new since Wednesday. The feed’s own
generatedis2026-09-05T06:57:26.383Z— the same build read off disk on 13 September. The 18 are the same 18 as Section 12 ofEfforts/reports/weekly-2026-09-13.md. They re-surface because they were never disposed of. That is the seen-file working, not a new arrival. - The seed-date reconciliation the file promised is done. All 14 seeded slugs
matched the feed’s
updatedexactly. The frontmatter-derived dates were right and nothing was ever wrongly suppressed. - Two of the 18 are part-implemented, not unread.
hiring-a-curatorandcredentials-and-confidentialityare named in the provenance ofAtlas/team/gmail-personal.md, written yesterday from the on-disk twins. Against the six-step hiring protocol the vault is at steps 1–2 of 6. Neither is marked seen.
hobbs-21n closed, and not by its own remedy. The URL was never changed; the
watcher works with localhost:8788 still in it. The task’s stated cause — the
placeholder URL — was inferred from a comment in the script on 6 September and was
wrong. Logged in Efforts/feedback.md as the self-flag: a cause is transcribed,
not produced.

| File | Change | Source |
|---|---|---|
.beads | hobbs-21n closed with the three-week sequence in the close reason — what the task claimed, what the 13 September probe found, what today’s fetch proved; the remedy in its title was never applied | Rowan, Saturday 2026-09-19 |
.beads | hobbs-hab created, P3 — the residual the close would have swallowed: https://chiefofstaff.io/guides.json still does not answer, so the watcher depends on a dev server in a repo that is not the vault | Rowan, Saturday 2026-09-19 |
Efforts/cos-guides-seen.json | Fourth fetch_log entry: first successful HTTP fetch. Seed dates reconciled — all 14 matched. Seen-map deliberately not written back, same reason as 13 September | ./scripts/guides-watch.sh run 2026-09-19 |
Efforts/feedback.md | [SELF-FLAGGED] — a cause inferred from a code comment, written into a task title as fact, unchallenged for thirteen days. SL-01 one level up: identifiers and causes are transcribed, never produced | Rowan, Saturday 2026-09-19 |
Atlas/decisions.md | ADR-28 — incremental handling adopted; the disposition vocabulary extended to every brief line, the channel-dependent half explicitly not built. Written before implementation, per ADR-16 | Rowan, Saturday 2026-09-19 |
Atlas/about-me.md | The second failure mode, in his words: “Four of my last five brief items were things I’d half-done and put back down.” Distinct from the first — this is about items he engaged with and set down, and it is what ADR-28 clause 5 is for | Rowan, Saturday 2026-09-19 |
Efforts/cos-guides-seen.json | All 18 disposed and written back — 2 yes, 5 deferred with a named trigger, 11 refused. Watcher now reports 0 new, earned rather than papered over | Rowan, Saturday 2026-09-19 |
Efforts/reports/attribution-2026-09-19.md | Two-week attribution at his ask — his five claims checked against the files; two the vault cannot confirm, marked unconfirmed rather than logged as wins | Rowan, Saturday 2026-09-19 |
.beads | hobbs-7q3 P1 (the routines), hobbs-7vi P2 (backfill unconfirmed), hobbs-z4y P2 (money ops, blocked on 7q3), hobbs-wtt P2 (re-ask Telegram, blocked on hobbs-9rq) | Rowan, Saturday 2026-09-19 |
Notes
What Rowan owes the system, and it is one message, not work: yes or no per guide on the 18. He said he would give it this session. Until he does, the seen map does not move and the same 18 surface at the weekly review on Sunday.
What is still blocked and did not move today: hobbs-9rq (approve the Pike
charter and the gmail.readonly grant) on hobbs-oou (the Maya clause). Nothing
on the guides list unblocks that pair — it is Rowan’s word, not a missing guide.
Evening — the dispositions, and what the account found
All eighteen guides disposed of in one message. Two yes, five deferred on a
named trigger, eleven refused. The seen-map is written back for the first time
since it was seeded, and ./scripts/guides-watch.sh now says “Nothing new” —
which it has never been entitled to say before today.
The invariant that made the write-back safe is recorded in the file: nothing
is marked seen unless Rowan refused it outright or a live task carries it. The
five Delivery guides are seen only because hobbs-wtt exists and is blocked on
hobbs-9rq. Close that task without making the re-ask and the disposition is lost
silently — which is why the task says so in its own description.
The attribution account found two things the claims did not contain.
hobbs-xkw— Claire’s acknowledgement — is open, and the venture file says in writing that she has had none. Rowan’s line was “Claire has an answer coming.” The answer is due the 30th and is not late. The acknowledgement is the two-minute thing and this vault has no record of it. Not asserted either way. Asked.hobbs-z4f— Cormorant — is open at P0 with zero days remaining as of yesterday. Rowan’s line was “the wire went out on time.” If it did, the graph is stale and that is Hobbs’s. If it did not, this is Bright Lake.
The vault has learned nothing since Friday evening. Both gaps are the same structural fact: there is no path by which this system finds out that Rowan did something. Every close depends on him telling a session. That is not the missing channel — that is the missing inbound half of it, and it is the sharpest argument for the Delivery track that has appeared so far. It is written down here rather than argued today, because he refused that track this morning with a trigger attached and re-litigating a decision the same day is not the job.
hobbs-1dk — the Norton ask lands today. His instruction from 6 September:
“ask me again in two weeks, and if I say no again, that’s your answer and you
should tell me what you think it means.” Two weeks is today, it collides with the
splash as noted on 7 September, and the ask is made.
